Bear Creek Veterinary Hospital, Clinic

We provide thorough Comprehensive Physical Exams for cats and dogs to assess overall health, detect early signs of disease, and tailor individualized care plans. Our exams include evaluations of weight, dental health, ears, eyes, skin, heart, lungs, and joints to ensure your pet remains in optimal condition.

We offer Puppy & Kitten Wellness Packages designed to protect and nurture young pets during their critical first year. These packages include vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, spinal/neurologic exams, and comprehensive wellness consultations to set a strong foundation for a healthy life.

We provide specialized Senior Pet Wellness Care through routine exams and early diagnosis of age-related conditions (e.g., arthritis, heart disease, diabetes). Our geriatric care includes proactive treatments to manage mobility, organ health, and quality of life for your aging companion, such as dental checkups and diet adjustments to slow degeneration.

We administer Core Vaccinations (including Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo) as recommended for all dogs to protect against these highly contagious and potentially fatal diseases. These vaccines are essential for puppies and adult dogs to build immunity and maintain community-wide disease prevention.

We offer Heartworm Testing & Prevention with annual screenings and preventive medications to safeguard your pet from heartworm, a deadly parasitic disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Prevention is often included in our wellness packages and involves oral or topical treatments tailored to your pet’s lifestyle.

We provide Flea & Tick Prevention solutions to protect your pet from parasitic infestations, which can cause irritations, allergies, and transmit diseases like Lyme disease. We recommend year-round preventive treatments and can discuss options like collars, topicals, or oral medications during wellness visits.

We offer Microchipping & Registration to ensure your pet can be identified if lost. Our microchips are permanent, subcutaneous implants linked to a national database. Registration services help reunite pets with owners quickly after accidental separations, and we provide detailed instructions for updating contact information.

We provide Nutritional Counseling & Weight Management to optimize your pet’s diet based on their age, breed, and health conditions. Our recommendations include personalized meal plans, portion control, and supplements (e.g., joint support for seniors) to prevent obesity-related diseases like diabetes or arthritis.

We perform Parasite Deworming to eliminate intestinal parasites (e.g., roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms) detected through fecal testing. Deworming is a critical component of our wellness packages for puppies/kitten socialization periods and recommended annually for all pets, especially those with outdoor exposure.

We offer Behavioral Counseling to address common issues like anxiety, aggression, or separation distress. Our veterinarians provide tailored advice on training techniques, environmental modifications, and referrals to certified behaviorists when specialized help is needed. We also address stress-related conditions post-surgery or during boarding stays.

We perform In-House Bloodwork, including Complete Blood Counts (CBC) and Chemistry Panels, using our on-site laboratory to diagnose infections, organ dysfunctions, hormonal imbalances, and diseases like kidney or liver issues. Rapid results allow us to customize treatment plans during the same visit, avoiding stress from multiple appointments.

We conduct Urinalysis as part of comprehensive wellness and diagnostic evaluations to screen for urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney disease, diabetes, or crystals (e.g., bladder stones). This non-invasive test provides vital insights into your pet’s metabolic health and hydration status, often recommended annually for all pets over 7 years old.

We offer Fecal Testing to detect intestinal parasites (e.g., giardia, coccidia) that can cause diarrhea, weight loss, or lethargy. Testing is included in routine wellness packages for puppies and recommended semi-annually for adult pets, even if they appear healthy, to prevent zoonotic transmission and internal health issues.

We provide Digital X-Rays (Radiography) to diagnose fractures, arthritis, organ abnormalities, foreign bodies, and dental issues with high-resolution imaging. Our digital radiography system minimizes radiation exposure and allows instant image analysis, enabling faster treatment decisions for conditions like bladder stones or broken bones.

We use Ultrasound Imaging to examine soft tissues, organs (e.g., heart, liver, kidneys), and pregnancies with real-time visualization. This painless, non-invasive tool helps us detect tumors, fluid accumulation, or heart defects without surgery. We often use ultrasound to guide biopsies or assess abdominal masses during diagnostic exams.

We offer Allergy Testing to identify environmental (e.g., pollen) or food allergens causing skin irritations, chronic ear infections, or gastrointestinal upset. Testing may include intradermal skin tests or blood serology, followed by customized diets or medication plans to alleviate symptoms like itching or hot spots.

We perform Eye Pressure Testing (Glaucoma Screening) during senior pet exams or if symptoms like cloudy eyes, excessive tearing, or dilated pupils are noted. Early detection of glaucoma—a painful, vision-robbing condition—allows us to prescribe medications or recommend surgical intervention to preserve your pet’s sight and comfort.

We provide Blood Pressure Monitoring for pets at risk of hypertensive diseases (e.g., due to kidney disease, thyroid issues, or aging). Using specialized equipment, we assess blood pressure to tailor treatments like medications or dietary changes that can mitigate heart or organ strain, ensuring early intervention for conditions like feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

We conduct EKG / ECG (Heart Monitoring) to evaluate heart rhythm, structure, and function, particularly in pets showing signs of heart disease (e.g., coughing, lethargy). Our in-house ECG capability allows us to detect arrhythmias or congenital defects quickly, enabling prompt management with medications, dietary adjustments, or referrals to a cardiologist when advanced care is needed.

We offer Dental X-Rays as part of our professional cleanings and dental surgeries to assess hidden problems like root infections, abscesses, or fractures. Digital dental radiographs reveal 70% of issues hidden below the gum line, guiding treatments such as extractions, root canals, or fillings. X-rays are integrated into our dental procedures to ensure thorough exams under anesthesia.

We perform Tooth Extractions for severe periodontal disease, broken teeth, or overcrowding to relieve pain and prevent infections. Extractions are done under anesthesia with advanced imaging to preserve healthy tissue and ensure rapid recovery. Post-surgery, we provide pain management and follow-up instructions to monitor healing and suggest dietary modifications.

We offer Oral Surgery for complex dental issues like gum disease, fractured jaws, or oral tumors. Our veterinary team uses sterile techniques and intraoralX-rays to plan surgeries (e.g., gum grafts, biopsies) with precise outcomes. We provide detailed pre- and post-operative care to manage pain, infection risks, and dietary restrictions during recovery.

We treat Periodontal Disease through professional cleanings, scaling, root planing, and antibiotics to combat gum infections. Advanced cases may require periodontal surgery (e.g., pocket reduction) or extractions. We emphasize prevention with at-home dental care education, emphasizing that early intervention can preserve teeth and systemic health (e.g., linked to heart/kidney disease).

We provide At-Home Dental Care Education as part of our comprehensive dental services, teaching owners how to brush teeth, use oral rinses, and select dental toys/diets. We demonstrate techniques, recommend enamel-safe products, and tailor advice to your pet’s breed (e.g., brachycephalic dogs prone to plaque buildup). Regular at-home care complements professional cleanings to extend your pet’s oral health.

We perform Spay & Neuter Surgery to prevent unwanted litters, reduce cancer risks (e.g., mammary tumors), and eliminate behaviors like roaming or aggression. Our surgical procedures follow sterile protocols with anesthesia monitoring and post-operative pain management. We also advise on ideal spay/neuter timing for puppies/kitten life stages and discuss alternatives for pet parents with breeding intentions.

We perform Foreign Body Removal for pets that ingest objects (e.g., rocks, toys) or suffer punctures. Surgical or endoscopic techniques are used based on the object’s location (e.g., gastrointestinal, respiratory tract). Pre-surgery imaging (X-rays) guides our approach, and we emphasize prevention during exams by advising pet parents to secure hazardous items.

We conduct C-Sections when natural birth is unsafe for the mother or puppies/kitten (e.g., dystocia, small litter box size, or prior C-section history). Our surgical suite is equipped for emergency cases with anesthesia monitoring and neonatal care for newborns. We provide post-operative rest/recovery instructions and discuss pre-weaning nutrition for mother and litter.

We repair Wound & Laceration Repair using sterile techniques and sutures/staples, along with antiseptics and antibiotics to prevent infection. For deep wounds, we may involve imaging to identify fractures or foreign objects. Post-repair, we provide detailed wound care instructions and schedule follow-ups to ensure proper healing and remove stitches at the right time.

We offer Bladder Stone Removal for pets with urinary crystals or stones detected via ultrasound or X-rays. Using cystoscopy or traditional surgery, we dissolve or remove stones to relieve blockages or pain. Post-procedure, we prescribe special diets or medications (e.g., dissolution stones) and recommend frequent urinalysis checks to prevent recurrence.

We perform Cherry Eye Repair, a surgical procedure to correct prolapsed tear glands in the eye (common in dogs like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels). The gland is repositioned and sutured to prevent infection or vision impairment. Recovery involves Elizabethan collars to prevent rubbing and post-op checks to monitor for complications or recurrent issues.

We offer Emergency Stabilization for critical conditions like poisoning, trauma, or organ failure during regular hours, with 24/7 emergency referrals for life-threatening cases. Our team assesses vitals, administers IV fluids, and initiates life support measures while preparing for specialized care. We guide pet parents on how to recognize emergencies (e.g., vomiting blood, seizures) and our proactive role in stabilizing pets before diagnostics.

We provide Hospitalization & 24-Hour Monitoring for pets requiring intensive post-surgical care, chronic disease management, or recovery from illness. Our overnight services include intravenous therapies, pain medications, and constant staff supervision to adjust treatments as needed. We communicate regularly with owners and arrange follow-up consultations to ensure a smooth transition home.

We administer IV Fluid Therapy to correct dehydration, support organ function during illnesses (e.g., kidney disease), or maintain hydration post-surgery. Our fluids may include electrolytes or medications, and we monitor patients closely for allergies or fluid overload. IV therapy is often paired with other treatments (e.g., pain meds) for comprehensive recovery.

We provide Pain Management using multimodal approaches (e.g., oral medications, injections, nerve blocks) for post-operative, chronic (e.g., arthritis), or acute pain (e.g., trauma). Our team assesses pain levels through physical exams and adjusts protocols to minimize suffering while avoiding side effects. We educate owners on pain signs and home care to improve quality of life.

We treat Poison & Toxin Treatment with immediate actions like inducing vomiting, administering activated charcoal, or IV fluids to counteract exposures (e.g., chocolate, lilies, rodenticide). Our hospital stocks antidotes and collaborates with emergency clinics for severe cases. We advise owners on preventing toxic exposures (e.g., hiding human medications) and recognize that rapid response is critical for outcomes.

We offer Medical Grooming to accommodate pets with wounds, surgical injuries, or skin conditions requiring careful handling. Services include paw trims, sanitary shaves (e.g., post-C-sections), or controlled baths with medicated shampoos. Our grooming team follows veterinary recommendations to avoid stress or aggravation during healing stages.

We perform Sanitary Shaves for post-surgical pets (e.g., C-sections, wound repair) or those needing wound cleaning. Gentle clipping removes hair around incisions to prevent infection and expedite healing. Follow-up grooming may include specialized trims to avoid pulling on sutures and ensure comfort during recovery.

We provide Nail Trimming & Dremeling to prevent overgrowth, pain, or infections (e.g., paronychia). Our technicians use guillotine or scissor clippers for trimming and gentle sanding (dremeling) to smooth edges. Regular nail maintenance is emphasized to avoid fractures or joint stress, with breed-specific advice for dogs with structural nail issues.

We perform Anal Gland Expression to relieve discomfort or infections from impacted anal glands, common in dogs. Our veterinarians manually express the glands or use lubricants to prevent blockages, which can cause scooting, licking, or scooting. Chronic issues may prompt discussions on surgical removal or dietary adjustments to reduce gland congestion.

We offer Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation for post-surgical, orthopedic, or neurologic recovery (e.g., after cruciate injuries or stroke). Services include targeted exercises, underwater treadmills (Hydrotherapy), and massage to restore strength and mobility. Our board-certified technicians create individualized plans and monitor progress to prevent re-injury.

We provide Hydrotherapy (Underwater Treadmill) to support weight-bearing exercises for obese, arthritic, or recovering pets. The low-impact water environment reduces joint stress while building muscle, often used post-surgery or for chronic conditions like hip dysplasia. Our treadmills are adjustable to accommodate diverse mobility levels and size ranges.

We offer Massage Therapy to improve circulation, reduce muscle spasms, and enhance relaxation for pets with pain or mobility issues. Certified technicians use gentle strokes to relieve tension and may incorporate techniques for pets with sciatica, post-operative stiffness, or anxiety. Sessions complement other therapies like acupuncture or medication for holistic pain relief.

We offer Standard Pet Boarding with indoor/outdoor options for cats and dogs, featuring individual cage space, climate control, and enrichment activities (e.g., toys, puzzles). Our team provides twice-daily care, including feeding, meds, and cleaning, while prioritizing socialization and individualized comfort (e.g., familiar bedding). Owners receive photos/video updates to track their pet’s well-being.

We provide Doggie Daycare with supervised play groups and training sessions to encourage physical activity and socialization. Our facility is secure with separated zones by size/energy level, and staff monitors health (e.g., water intake) while offering structured activities like fetch or agility. Vaccination and behavior assessments ensure compatibility among pets for a safe, fun experience.

We provide Domestic Travel Certificates for pets moving between U.S. states, including vaccinations, microchip verification, and inspections for parasites/diseases. These certificates are required by airlines and states to prevent the spread of illness, and we assist with state-specific regulations to simplify interstate relocation for pet parents.

We conduct Quality of Life Assessments to evaluate your pet’s comfort, mobility, and overall well-being, particularly for senior or palliative patients. We use tools like the HHHHScorethrough discussions about pain levels, appetite, and joy to guide decisions on treatment continuations or end-of-life care. Our goal is to ensure dignity and minimize suffering through honest, compassionate dialogue.

We arrange At-Home Euthanasia Referrals, coordinating with mobile veterinarians or on-call services to provide in-home euthanasia for pets nearing the end of life. We guide families through options, requirements (e.g., pre-euthanasia care), and can assist with grief counseling or memorial services (e.g., urns) to make this final act as peaceful and personal as possible.

We provide Telemedicine Consultations for follow-ups, minor ailments, or prescription renewals via secure video calls with licensed veterinarians. These 15–30 minute sessions assess symptoms, advise care plans, or arrange in-clinic visits when needed. Telemedicine is ideal for after-hours concerns (e.g., suspected infections) or managing chronic conditions remotely.
