Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital, Clinic

We provide thorough nose-to-tail exams during every wellness visit to establish a health baseline for your pet. Our team checks vital signs, including weight, heart rate, respiratory function, and temperature, while examining the mouth, eyes, skin, joints, and limbs to detect early signs of illness or disease.

We offer specialized wellness packages for puppies and kittens, including vaccinations (rabies, distemper, parvovirus), deworming, and spay/neuter consultations. These packages ensure your young pet starts life with a strong foundation in preventive care.

Our senior wellness exams focus on early detection of age-related conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, and thyroid issues. We recommend bi-annual visits for pets aged 7+, including bloodwork (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and pain management assessments to extend your pet’s quality of life.

We administer core vaccinations for dogs (rabies, distemper, parvovirus) and cats (rabies, feline leukemia) during wellness exams. These vaccines are essential for preventing life-threatening diseases and are tailored to your pet’s lifestyle and risk factors.

We offer annual heartworm testing and preventive medications to protect your pet from this deadly parasite. Heartworm disease can cause severe lung damage, and prevention is a critical part of our wellness programs.

Our team provides flea and tick prevention plans tailored to your pet’s needs, including topical treatments, oral medications, and environmental control strategies. These prevent parasites that can cause discomfort, allergies, or transmit diseases like Lyme.

We implant microchips during wellness visits for permanent identification, increasing the chances of reuniting you with your pet if they’re lost. We also assist with registration and linking chips to your current contact information.

During wellness exams, we assess your pet’s diet and weight, offering personalized nutritional counseling to address obesity, food allergies, or age-specific dietary needs. We recommend high-quality foods and portion control plans for optimal health.

We provide intestinal parasite deworming treatments to eliminate roundworms, hookworms, and other parasites that can cause gastrointestinal issues or spread zoonotic diseases. Deworming is often included in puppy/kitten wellness packages.

Our in-house laboratory performs comprehensive bloodwork, including Complete Blood Counts (CBC) and chemistry panels, to detect organ dysfunction, infections, or metabolic disorders. Results are available quickly for timely treatment decisions.

We conduct urinalysis as part of senior wellness exams and diagnostic workups to screen for kidney disease, urinary tract infections (UTIs), diabetes, or crystals. Early detection helps manage chronic conditions effectively.

Our clinic uses digital radiography to diagnose fractures, dental disease, foreign objects, and soft tissue abnormalities. Board-certified veterinary radiologists interpret images for accurate results, often requiring sedation or anesthesia for optimal clarity.

We offer ultrasound imaging to evaluate abdominal organs (liver, kidneys, spleen), heart function (echocardiogram), and reproductive health. This non-invasive tool helps diagnose tumors, organ disease, or pregnancy with real-time visualization.

Our dental radiographs reveal hidden issues like root infections, fractures, or tooth resorption not visible during a visual exam. These X-rays guide treatments such as extractions or periodontal therapy for comprehensive oral health.

We perform tooth extractions for severely decayed, fractured, or diseased teeth under anesthesia to relieve pain and prevent infection. Post-operative care instructions ensure a smooth recovery.

Our team treats periodontal disease through scaling, root planing, and antibiotic therapy to address gum inflammation and bone loss. Early intervention preserves teeth and improves your pet’s comfort.

We educate pet owners on at-home dental care, including tooth brushing techniques, dental diets, and water additives to reduce plaque buildup between professional cleanings. This proactive approach extends your pet’s oral health.

We perform spay/neuter surgeries as part of our preventive care program, reducing the risk of cancers (e.g., mammary tumors), unwanted litters, and behavioral issues. Our team prioritizes patient safety with skilled anesthesiologists.

We diagnose and surgically remove foreign objects ingested or lodged in the gastrointestinal tract using X-rays and endoscopy. Early intervention prevents complications like perforations or obstructions.

Our team repairs wounds and lacerations with sutures or advanced techniques like laser surgery to promote healing. We monitor for infections and provide pain management to ensure comfort during recovery.

Our emergency care team stabilizes critically ill or injured pets with IV fluids, oxygen therapy, and pain management before further diagnostics. We work closely with the Animal ER of the Western Slope for after-hours emergencies.

We offer hospitalization services for pets requiring intensive care, including post-surgical monitoring, chronic condition management, or recovery from illnesses. Our team provides round-the-clock attention and adjustments to treatment plans.

For pets with respiratory distress or anesthesia complications, we provide oxygen therapy in a controlled environment to improve oxygen saturation and support recovery.

Our clinic administers IV fluid therapy for dehydration, shock, or post-surgical care. Fluids restore hydration, electrolyte balance, and kidney function while supporting overall stabilization.

We offer comprehensive pain management, including medications, acupuncture, and laser therapy, for pets recovering from surgery or managing chronic conditions like arthritis. Our goal is to minimize discomfort and improve quality of life.

In cases of poisoning or toxin exposure, we provide immediate treatment, including induced vomiting (when safe), IV fluids, and supportive care. We collaborate with the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center for expert guidance.

We provide acupuncture as a complementary therapy for pain management, arthritis, and rehabilitation. This ancient practice stimulates nerve function to reduce inflammation and promote healing naturally.

We offer standard pet boarding with clean, safe facilities for pets while you travel. Our staff provides daily care, including feeding, exercise, and health checks to ensure your pet’s well-being in a home-like setting.
