Kona Veterinary Services: Chartier L Jenny DVM, Clinic

We conduct Comprehensive Physical Exams annually to assess your pet’s overall health, including eyes, teeth, heart, lungs, joints, mobility, body condition, and lumps. These exams help us detect early signs of illness or injury before they become serious problems.

We provide essential Core Vaccinations to protect pets from common and serious diseases like rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. These vaccines strengthen your pet’s immune system, reducing the risk of illness if they encounter these viruses. Hawaii requires rabies vaccination for all pets, even though it is a rabies-free state, due to travel and legal regulations.

We provide annual Heartworm Testing via in-house blood tests to screen your pet and prescribe preventive medications. Hawaii’s mosquito population poses a significant risk, so we recommend consistent prevention through monthly pills or year-long injectable treatments to avoid fatal heartworm disease.

We offer Flea & Tick Prevention solutions, including combined flea and deworming medications in easy monthly pills. Fleas can cause skin irritation, hair loss, allergies, or anemia, while ticks may transmit diseases like Lyme disease. We recommend professional-grade prevention to protect your pet effectively.

We provide Parasite Deworming treatments for intestinal worms, which can cause diarrhea, weight loss, or anemia—especially in puppies. Common signs include a distended belly or visible worm segments in stool. We offer combined flea and deworming prevention plans during annual exams.

We offer In-House Bloodwork, including Complete Blood Counts (CBC) and chemistry panels, to monitor your pet’s internal health—especially for senior pets. These tests help us track liver, kidney, thyroid function, and blood glucose levels during annual or wellness exams.

While we are not an emergency clinic, we offer Emergency Stabilization during business hours for established patients with urgent medical concerns. Cases are prioritized based on severity and doctor availability. For after-hours emergencies, we partner with GuardianVets for triage support.

We provide Pain Management strategies as part of our treatment plans for injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Early diagnosis and aggressive treatment improve outcomes, so we recommend prompt veterinary care if your pet shows signs of discomfort or illness.

We provide guidance on Poison & Toxin Treatment, including immediate actions if your pet ingests harmful substances like rat poison, slug bait, or household chemicals. We recommend keeping product labels handy and contacting us (or the manufacturer) immediately for professional advice.

We offer Quality of Life Assessments to help pet owners make informed decisions about their companion’s well-being, especially in chronic or end-stage conditions. Our team discusses comfort, mobility, and overall happiness to ensure the best care tailored to your pet’s needs.
